I think Scott is the only person that will hire Crowe on the regular basis. Russell Crowe is terribly immature and hotheaded. Scott is not like Spike Jonze where he can incorporate multiple characters to be portrayed by one actor, he's not that artistic nor is he that versatile.

The movie is titled "American Gangster" - why the hell does he have so much damned screen time as the law?

Plus he was in "American Gangster" way too much. This is bloody retarded! Are Crowe and Scott married now or something? They're like one of those couples that does everything from sleeping together to rock climbing!Ĭrowe used to be a good actor, he was great in "The Insider", he was all right in "A Beautiful Mind", but he was EXTREMELY OVERRATED in "Gladiator" - no did that even deserve to win best picture let alone even be nominated. What do you make of this dual casting in Nottingham? I guess it's just an incredibly interesting part of the story and I can't wait to see how it all works. And Crowe is a great enough actor, that he'll pull it off, too. Ridley Scott is a great filmmaker, I have no doubts that he'll be able to pull it off. And I'm not going to claim that it's a bad idea to even try and include it in the script when it potentially might be an intriguing twist, especially in opposition to the classic Robin Hood tale we're all familiar with. There's no need to start complaining when I don't even understand how it would all work to begin with. It's got to be the best one ever done otherwise you should do something else."Ĭonsidering Nottingham is supposed to be a revisionist take on Robin Hood, I'm open to any crazy ideas Scott might have. You don't want to be doing Robin Hood unless you're going to be doing it really f*cking well. Crowe mentioned to press this weekend that Nottingham is "one of those things where we're taking our time with. Thus, Scott halted pre-production on the film to give more time for the script to be developed into something that wasn't as confusing or at least to take the time to work this characterization more intelligently into the story. It changes." When this news first hit back in July, it was discovered that this confusing plot twist was one of the areas of the script that really needed work. Scott did say the roles would be "a a good old clever adjustment of characters.

Ridley Scott confirmed to MTV this weekend that Crowe will play both roles. We probably won't know exactly what this means for a while, but it's a remarkably intriguing casting update. How will that work? I don't exactly know, but it has something to do with the way the story plays out and it's not just another Norbit-like multiple role gimmick (phew!). Wait, what?! It doesn't exactly make sense now, but apparently in the actual script, Robin and the Sheriff are the same person. Apparently Russell Crowe will be playing both the role of Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham in Ridley Scott's Nottingham. However, today we've got a second confirmation and it's worth mentioning again.

( See Photos) i.This news should've been reported a long time ago courtesy of a scoop from CHUD back in July, but it wasn't. 2 Storage drawers built into bases for storing the accessories.1 tree has a secret hatch nearby where Robin Hood stores his Loot.3 trees in Sherwood Forest (This is actually a real Forest and not just a story).1 Arched Bridge ( I used Hinges Underneath Bridge to create curve).Above the Gate there is a Boulder Trap (on a Hinge) that drops them on to any Suspected Bandits.1 Castle with Working Wrought Iron Gate that Winches up and locks into place by pushing the Technic Part to Jam the Handle.8 Minifigures, The Sheriff, Maid Marion and 4 Guards, Robin Hood and Little John.3 Seperate modular bases that attach with Technic pins.I made it Modular in design so that you can re-create a bigger forest scene if you had more than 1.
